SUMMARY:The Maids
DESCRIPTION:Presented by ArtBuzz Productions & Sheep. Co Entertainment \n\n\n\nThe Maids\n\n\n\nby Roman Viktyuk\n\n\n\nbased on the play by J. Genet \n\n\n\n\nRoman Viktyuk’s legendary play “The Maids” has been on stage for over 35 years — and it still astonishes audiences! The production is based on the play by French playwright Jean Genet. \n\n\n\nIt tells the story of two maids\, Solange and Claire\, who worship their Mistress while at the same time being consumed by envy. In her absence\, they try on her clothes\, imitate her behavior\, and act out elaborate imaginary scenes. One day\, carried away by their game\, they anonymously report Madame’s lover to the police – and decide to kill her. \n\n\n\nThe actors bring this psychological drama to life through choreography\, movement\, and vocal expression. The intricate makeup evokes Japanese Kabuki theatre – a synthesis of music\, dance\, and drama\, where makeup carries deep symbolic meaning. \n\n\n\nThe entire performance unfolds as a hypnotic show set to Dalida’s greatest hits\, where the audience finds itself sympathizing with these failed criminals and applauding them in fascination. “I believe that ‘The Maids’ should be performed by men. Only men\,” said the legendary director Roman Viktyuk. And after seeing the show\, it’s hard to disagree. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Info\n\n\n\nDates\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2 Hours 30 mins\, no intermission \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAge 16+ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPerformed in Russian \n\n\n\n\n\nHealth & Safety Information
