Stories remind us of who we are. They inform how we see ourselves as individuals, how we see our country, and how we imagine our future. But who writes the stories we share?

You'll want to be there with us when we announce our 12th season!

Re-storying is something ArtsEmerson has been committed to since its inception, and something that we’re leaning into even more intentionally in our second decade as Boston’s leading presenter of contemporary theatre from around the globe. Re-storying means re-writing our shared story—our American history, our mythology, our values—that tell us who we are. The amazing artists we uplift at ArtsEmerson are challenging our assumptions and offering new ways to see ourselves and others. Stories can help maintain the structures of power, of wealth, and of who matters. If we want to change our world, we need to change our story.

At ArtsEmerson, we believe in artists who boldly celebrate our differences, reflect the vital diversity of our city, and deepen our connection to each other. We believe the re-storying happening on our stages is actually the story, and this will be more apparent than ever in what’s coming up next.

Join Executive Director David C. Howse and Director of Artistic Programming Ronee Penoi on May 23rd for an evening full of surprises, entertainment, special guests, and the very first glimpse of our 22/23 Season. Get ready for the unveiling of thrilling shows from a diversity of styles, voices and cultures, all illuminating the contemporary moment. Season packages will be available on site with first access to the best seats at the best prices.

The first 200 guests will receive a special gift to commemorate this next chapter in ArtsEmerson’s story.
