Rally tells the story of controversial, but undeniably influential, political activist Rose Pak. After fleeing the Cultural Revolution with her family, then growing up in Macau, Rose came to the United States to become a journalist before being swept up in the burgeoning progressive movement of the 70s.

So deep in the power structure of city government, those who ran for office gave her the moniker of kingmaker. This Chinese woman, small in stature, working out of a small office in Chinatown, had the ability to make you mayor of San Francisco.
