Sugar

Robbie McCauley

“Robbie McCauley is one of the finest performance artists now working in the American theatre”

— Woodie King, Jr., Founder & Artistic Director, New Federal Theatre NYC

Sugar is produced in collaboration with the Performing Arts Department at Emerson College and was created in collaboration with Artists In Context.

From the comfort foods of the South to the free spirits of New York, award-winning performer Robbie McCauley vividly portrays her extraordinary life’s journey. Robbie takes us from off-beat downtown to Broadway and beyond, cracking open silences about the pains and triumphs of living with “a little bit of sugar” – diabetes. Chauncey Moore plays live music to punctuate the piece and a talkback with Robbie will follow each performance.
