How Green Porno Made Me Like Valentine’s Day

I’m going to be honest, I’m one of those people who really does not like Valentine’s Day.

However, getting to explore the holiday through a different lens while working on Green Porno may have changed my ways.

 

Here’s how:

 

First of all, using Valentine’s Day to celebrate all the different kinds of love in the animal kingdom just sounds like a wonderful thing to me. Isabella Rossellini being ridiculous and deadpan about how animals have sex in every imaginable way possible is the ideal manifestation of love in all its forms.

 

Second of all, I realized that my friends could use a good laugh and that I should tell them that I love and appreciate them more often. What better way to spread the love than with a couple silly Valentine’s.

 

Seriously why did we stop doing this in elementary school? Lets bring back those brown paper bags and give our love to our friends in silly cards and chocolate all the time.

Lastly, Green Porno has made me realize that Valentine’s Day didn’t have to be the sappy Hallmark Holiday it’s turned into.

It could be fun and irreverent and caring. And it gave me an excuse to mesmerize, gross out, and enchant my friends and loved ones with some awesome/ridiculous videos about animal sex.

 

So whether you’re a Valentine’s Day lover or hater, here are some Valentine’s for you. Spread them around. Give them to your friends. Let them know you care (and that passionate hugs don’t need to just be for squids).
