Introducing the Robert J. Orchard Stage at Emerson/Paramount Center

On October 6, 2016 ArtsEmerson and Emerson College renamed the Paramount main stage the “Robert J. Orchard Stage” in honor of Rob’s incredible career in the arts and for the tremendous gift of founding our organization. The Boston Globe wrote that Orchard, “put a global face on Boston theater by attracting dazzling talent from all over the world while becoming a magnet for cutting-edge new work by national artists” via his work with ArtsEmerson. In 2013, WBUR reported, “in four short years, [they] have established ArtsEmerson as one of the most important cultural institutions in New England.” Mayor Marty Walsh declared October 6, 2016 Robert J. Orchard day in Boston. You can view the proclamation below. Above, watch the video tribute created in honor of last night’s “World Alive Celebration” in honor of Rob.

Thank you, Rob. We salute you!
