WATCH: Parable Path Boston Conversations
On May 22nd, ArtsEmerson hosted a livestream presentation of Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower where nearly 4500 people from all of the world joined us to listen to the powerful music of Toshi Reagon and Bernice Johnson Reagon, performed by a cast of amazing artists at the NYU Abu Dhabi production in 2015. This special evening marked the launch of Toshi’s Parable Path Boston, her year long artist residency at Emerson College.
We also were delighted to have pre and post show conversations with Toshi Reagon alongside MeiYin Wang, Shanta Thake, Eric Ting, Morley Kamen, Karma Mayet Johnson, and Signe Harriday.
We’ve made both conversations available to the public! We hope you’ll be able to enjoy these fruitful discussions about art making, community, and where we need to go as a collective moving forward to care for our earth and each other.

Your generosity will help us deliver inspired programming to the comfort of your own homes while sustaining us for the future when we can commune in our theatres once again.
For some reason I have Parable of the Sower in my calendar for today, 10/4/20. This has to be wrong.
Is there any way I could see the video of the production, which was previously aired? I have been a subscriber for many years.
Unfortunately a recording isn’t available, but we hope to have more Parable related events in the coming years through our residency with Toshi Reagon. Thank you for being a long time subscriber and supporting ArtsEmerson, especially throughout these past few months! There will be updates for Parable of the Sower in the coming months.
