Welcome Back, Christopher Rivas!
ArtsEmerson is thrilled to welcome back Christopher Rivas, artist behind 2023’s hit show The Real James Bond…Was Dominican, with his latest show, Rough Magic, playing at the Emerson Paramount Center from July 12-13, 2024.
Christopher Rivas is a renown storyteller, author, filmmaker, and Rothschild Social Impact fellow, among his many accomplishments. Born and Raised in New York City, Rivas took up acting from a young age. He went on to study acting at CalArts before appearing on on screen and television. In addition, the actor’s work has extend to include podcasts, and writing acclaimed books such as“Brown Enough”, a story of the truth of race and culture in contemporary America. Rivas’s solo performance during the The Real James Bond…Was Dominican received widespread praise, including a shout-out from legendary Red Sox player, Big Papi!
In his latest production, Rivas, alongside Annie Gonzalez, explore the complexities of contemporary relationships and what it means to have differing perspectives of what love means.
