ArtsEmerson’s First Sold-Out Show of the Season: Rough Magic!

ArtsEmerson’s first performance of the season, Rough Magic, which ran from July 13-14 at the Emerson Paramount Center, was also our first sold-out in 2024-2025! Audiences were transported on an emotional journey as performers Christopher Rivas and Annie Gonzalez explored the complexity of relationships and what happens when two people have differing perspectives on love. 

Following the July 13 performance, audiences joined Rivas, Gonzalez, Rough Magic creatives, and ArtsEmerson staff for an opening night toast, congratulating the artists on a successful show and providing theater-goers the chance to mingle with the performers. Opening night toasts are one of many of ArtsEmerson’s cherished theater traditions, open to all attendees of that evening’s performance.
