Introducing ArtsEmerson’s 24-25 Teaching Artists

We are excited to announce this year’s teaching artists for our Play Reading Book Club! Started in 2014, this initiative brings community members together to explore ArtsEmerson shows on a deeper level. Participants of this free club learn about the play through discussions and resources to interpret the text while building a community. These discussions are led by our fantastic teaching artists. Alex Leondedis

Alex Leondedis (he/him) is thrilled to be working with Arts Emerson! Alex holds a BFA in Contemporary Theatre from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and is an actor, director, and teaching artist who has taught programs for Wheelock Family Theatre, The Boch Center, Company One, Central Square Theatre, Harvard’s TDM Division, BUSTI, and Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Madison Mondeaux

Madison Mondeaux (she/her) was born and raised in Portland, OR. She holds a BA in Creative Writing, with a focus on playwriting, from Knox College, and is currently pursuing an MFA in Fiction Writing from Emerson College. Her plays have enjoyed productions across the US, and her playwriting portfolio can be found on the New Play Exchange database (newplayexchange.org).

David Raposo

David is a Boston based artist and arts teacher. He teaches theatre in Everett Public schools and teaches and directs in various spaces in New England.

Amanda Shea

Amanda Shea is a two-time Boston Music Award-winning Spoken Word Artist. Shea is an artist, performer, educator, artivist, film producer, host, and curator. She co-founded and curated six iterations of Activating ARTivism, a community festival to amplify POC through art, activism, and resistance.Her work can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts, The Boston Globe, TEDX, TEDXRoxbury, Netflix, Prime Video, BBC News, GBH and much more. Shea is the curator and host of GBH OUTSPOKEN SATURDAYS. Shea is the recipient of The Boston Foundation LAB Grant 2024. Shea will be releasing her first book, “Pieces of Shea” in 2025. Amanda’s work examines her personal life experiences, social justice issues, and healing through trauma utilizing art as the tool.
