2. It builds on a powerful history

The title SpaceBridge refers to satellite conversations between Americans and Soviets during the Cold War – moments when people connected despite politics. This show reenvision this historic moment through the context of the current conflict in Ukraine. SpaceBridge even further references these Soviet-era SpaceBridges as the children on stage are joined by acclaimed actor Ellen Lauren (SITI Company) as Samantha Smith, who in 1983 at the age of 10 wrote a letter to Soviet leader Yuri Andropov pleading for peace. Invited to visit the Soviet Union in response, she became famously known as “America’s Youngest Ambassador.”

3. It has been loved by audiences, including actress Sarah Jessica Parker

The show was met with acclaim from critics and audiences alike following its premiere in New York City, with actress Sarah Jessica Parker even in attendance! The actress has expressed her love for the show, calling it “a gift” and spending time with the featured children backstage.
