Join Us for The Point: Shakespeare’s Radical Stage

Dive into the enduring influence of William Shakespeare beyond the stage at The Point: Shakespeare’s Radical Stage, part of ArtsEmerson’s thought-provoking The Point series, at the Emerson Paramount Center Jackie Liebergott Black Box on February 26 at 6:30pm. This public dialogue will explore how Shakespeare’s plays and language have shaped political ideas and fueled movements for change throughout history, from inspiring rhetoric during the American Revolution to serving as coded symbols of resistance during World War II.

Renowned scholars and theater practitioners Christine Hamel, Erika Boeckeler, and Adele Lee will unpack how works like Coriolanus, Julius Caesar, Henry V, and Hamlet resonate as tools for imagining justice, challenging power, and imagining new worlds of solidarity and freedom.
