Don’t Miss The 4th Witch & More!

Are you ready for Manual Cinema’s long awaited return to ArtsEmerson? The critically acclaimed Chicag0-based troupe is coming back to the stage of the Emerson Paramount Center from October 30-November 9 with their latest show, The 4th Witch! This new tale, inspired by Macbeth, utilizes Manual Cinema’s signature practical effects, shadow puppetry, and live music to create a fantastical world – and just in time for Halloween!

ArtsEmerson is excited to present a number of special programming opportunities alongside The 4th Witch, including “Puppet Times” which will follow every performance of the show (with the exception of opening night, October 30, and November 1). Puppet Time invites audience members to come up on stage and play with the materials Manual Cinema uses to create this magical show.

In addition to Puppet Time, we have a special The Point presentation on October 21, The Point: Something Wicked This Way Comes. This free, in-personal panel discussion will be dedicated to exploring how history, myth, and culture have long framed powerful women as unruly or monstrous, using Macbeth & The 4th Witch to further frame the conversation. Seats are still available to be sure to secure yours now!

To keep in line with the spooky themes of the show, and the coinciding holiday, we are hosting a special Witches Night Out on Halloween! For this occasion, we are inviting all audiences to gather their ghoul-squad to celebrate spooky season at the Friday, October 31 7:30pm performance of the show. Costumes are encouraged! Post your theater selfie with #WitchesNightOut so we’ll be sure to see it.

Lastly, there will be a special post-show talkback following the evening performance of The 4th Witch on November 1! For Talk Back performances, immediately after the conclusion of the show, a moderator and special guests will talk about the production and field questions from the audience as well. This event is free for all ticket holders!
