Opening Weekend just days away
Our opening weekend is just days away – beginning on Thursday, September 23rd. Mark your calendars and join us for an open house (get a chance to see these magnificent facilities), and Doug Elkin’s Sound of Music variation with a wink, FRAULEIN MARIA, as well as the first opportunity ever to see the legendary Tectonic Theatre Project performing their original LARAMIE PROJECT together with the EPILOGUE: TEN YEARS LATER. We’re only doing this 4 times so don’t miss it. Also, for all of you out there who have ever been a part of a previous performance of THE LARAMIE PROJECT, as part of our opening celebration, we are having a reunion. Check it out on our web site: www.ArtsEmerson.org. You’ll get a free ticket to the performance on Friday evening, September 24th and have a chance to meet many of the originating artists after.
We also commissioned 10 local playwrights to write 10 minute plays to be performed free as part of the weekend. We’re calling them pop-up plays because you’ll see them in various locations and times through Saturday.
And, finally, also free to all will be film screenings of Shanghai Express (because it was the first film ever shown at the Paramount when it originally opened nearly 80 years ago, and THE SOUND OF MUSIC to highlight the fun and frolic of the live stage response, FRAULEIN MARIA.
And much more…films, music, and parties. Check it out (see the link off our home page at www.artsemerson.org
I can’t wait to see you. Rob
