Congratulations to ALL IRNE Award Winners!
The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) held its 18th Annual IRNE Awards last night. IRNE is New England’s largest theater arts recognition program, recognizing the work of playwrights, designers, actors, choreographers and directors among small, mid-size, small and fringe theater companies throughout the previous year.
ArtsEmerson took home awards for Best Visiting Play (Ernest Shackelton Loves Me) and Best Solo Performance, which went to Tangela Large for her unstoppable turn as nine different characters in Mr. Joy. Furthermore, ArtsEmerson was nominated 16 times, often multiples in a category (4 of 5 in the Best Visiting Play category) and nine different AE productions were nominated in total.
Also, AE’s Garrett Herzig won for his Projection Design for Albatross at The Poets’ Theatre.
We are honored to have our work recognized and would like to extend our congratulation to all of the IRNE nominees, winners, and everyone in Boston who attends our shows.
