A Wrap Up of Our Second-Annual Garden Party

Some 100 guests attended ArtsEmerson’s Garden Party—our annual summer friendraiser—at the home of David and Terry Wilkins. Six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning icon BeBe Winans, whose musical Born For This opens at the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre next week, was the distinguished guest of honor and wowed attendees with his voice and his story.

The event celebrated the announcement of ArtsEmerson’s 18/19 Season, and proceeds went towards supporting ArtsEmerson’s Gaining Ground Fund which elevates and encourages the ambitions of artists developing work for the world stage that reflects the African Diasporic experience in America. We hope you can join us later this summer for the next Gaining Ground Fund event. We’ll meet in Martha’s Vineyard for a one-night-only production of A Love Story, featuring power couple entrepreneur Sheila Johnson and The Honorable William Newman.
