Check out these photos from the Fashion Accessibility Project

When the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) turned 25 in 2015, the milestone sparked a movement in the fashion design industry. Many designers began creating clothing and fashion for those with disabilities; their solution-based designs allowed these pieces of practical and stylish clothing to solve problems rather than create them.

This past weekend ArtsEmerson and Epicenter Community teamed up to create something unique, New England’s very first fashion accessibility event. The event took place in front of a sold out audience at the Emerson Paramount Center’s black box theater.

Here are some of our favorite looks from the event:

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Fashion Accessibility Project this past weekend!

Designers Ray Grand of Ray Grand Apparel, Joelle Fontaine of I Am Kreyol, Peda Edouard of Mathmatik Athletics and Jay Calderin of Boston Fashion Week will be designing custom pieces for our amazing models Heather Watkins, Keith Jones, Donald Washington, Cheri Blauwet, Eli Wolff, Laura Ferrone, Marty Harris, Brooks Bard, Jessica Mayer and Hailey Boyan.
