Such fun – they make impossible leaps and gasp-worthy falls seem completely natural
As good as it gets. I saw PSY last year and was totally blown away, so I made sure to go to see Sequence 8 when I heard they were in town.
As a dancer, I was very impressed with the choreographic elements, the music, the humor, and of course the acrobatic marvels. I’ve seen Cirque du Soleil many times and enjoy Les 7 Doigts de la Main much more. Cirque is too ‘over-the-top’, too Las Vegas showy and bombastic. Les 7 Doigts is more humane, more down-to-earth and accessible to its audience. There’s a genuine sense of connection between the Les 7 Doigts performers and their audience. As for how they made me think of ‘the other’ – actually they made me think of them as ‘one of my own’.
I’m so thrilled to have seen Les 7 Doigts de la Main. I just read the posting by Timo, and I couldn’t agree more with everything he said.
The dancing, the acrobatics, the music, the humor, the human connection — it was a fabulous combination.
Amazing show! Make sure you go and see it!
Sept Doigts is (are?) phenomenal: Sequence 8, even mores than PSY, was enormously moving as well as every variant on “brilliant” one could imagine. The poetic qualities behind the show made me wonder what universe the team occupies, and could I come over for a visit…How about a permanent residency for SD, perhaps at Emerson, so that they’re here every year for more than a week at a time. Imagine an outdoor festival with them at the center — helping to create it as well as perform in it. Okay, I can…Thanks for this.
[a final “o” escaped from the clutches of “mores.” I wasn’t referring to marshmallows.
