Gratitude
Maybe you noticed it while watching acrobats recount the struggles and victories of their elders in Reversible. Maybe it happened while watching, in astonishment, as a house appeared from nothing on stage during HOME. Or perhaps it was during the intense, political strife presented so viscerally and vividly in The State of Siege, Kiss and Gardens Speak.
Gratitude. It’s with us, or can be with us, all the time; it’s not just something we make note to acknowledge one Thursday every November. This season, we have been honored to present a series of productions that have summoned that feeling so effortlessly—shows that remind us to be thankful for our ancestors, our home, our freedoms.
This Thanksgiving, we’d like to thank you for choosing to travel with us from story to story, country to country, and for opening yourself to experience empathy through art. As we continue into our 2017/18 Season we’ll share stories from Cambodia, Kuwait, Belgium, and the U.S., too. By cultivating diversity in the art and in the audience, we endeavor to ignite public conversation around our most vexing societal challenges as a catalyst for overcoming them.
We are grateful to have you in the ArtsEmerson family, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
